Chinese New Year Parade
FPG preschoolers celebrated Chinese New Year on Friday, January 27, with a festive parade around the FPG Bypass Building. Chinese New Year began on the first day of the lunar new year which was Monday, January 23, 2012. It is a time when families and friends get together to say good-bye to the old and welcome the new. This year is the Year of the Dragon (1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012). People born in the Year of the Dragon are lively, intellectual, energetic, and excitable. It is the only sign represented by a mythical animal and is a very auspicious symbol throughout Chinese culture, not just the zodiac.
