Mary Louise Peters, MSE, is a technical assistance specialist with the Trohanis Technical Assistance (TA) Projects at the FPG-CDI at UNC-CH. Mary has been working with the Early Childhood Technical Assistance (ECTA) Center and related projects since 2010 with national partners and states in their provision of special education services for children ages birth through five years and their families with a focus on inclusion, personnel development, and quality standards. Mary has also supported system framework, child outcomes measurement, evidence-based practices, state systems improvement, implementation of IDEA B-5, and data use for informed decision making.

Her work experience at the state level has been as coordinator of statewide professional development for early childhood and Section 619 Coordinator. She has been a regular and special education teacher, coordinator of school district level programs and higher education instructor. Facilitation and relationship-based practices, family and community involvement, collaborative system building, interagency coordination, and grant management have been areas of emphasis for Ms. Peters.
