Build Local and Regional Capacity to Implement Evidence-Based Prevention Programs

Area(s) of Work: Child Welfare

After several years of prioritizing state-level administrative advocacy to promote the replication of evidence-based programs, Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina (PCANC) believes that an increased focus on local community/agency capacity building will achieve the greatest return on The Duke Endowment's philanthropic investment. PCANC will continue to work closely with funders to shift funding and policy toward increased support of evidence-based programs, but we will broaden their strategies to take advantage of new opportunities that are presenting themselves at the local level and within the current political environment.
