Evaluation of Georgia's Pre-Kindergarten Professional Development Initiative

The primary purpose of this project is to evaluate the effects of two professional development strategies, based on the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (Pianta, LaParo, & Hamre, 2008), on improving the quality of Georgia's Pre-Kindergarten classrooms that are located in the school districts identified in Georgia's K-12 Race to the Top initiative. The evaluation will compare the relative effectiveness of each strategy and gather information to better understand the strengths and challenges in implementing these professional development strategies.
