An Unlikely Friendship: A Curriculum and Video Guide

Unlikely Friendship Curriculum Development and Planning Team
2003

The videotape, An Unlikely Friendship, chronicles the story of how two people as different as embittered Klansman C.P. Ellis and outspoken black activist Ann Atwater overcame their hatred for one another and formed a lifelong friendship. This curriculum and video guide is intended to be used with the videotape to foster knowledge of the civil rights movement and encourage understanding of bias and prejudice at a personal level. The curriculum provides insights to Durham's racial history, guidelines for discussing the film, activities, discussion questions and additional resources.
