Date Published: 01/16/2020

The UNC Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute joins the University and nation in honoring one of our world's greatest leaders, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on January 20, 2020.

By championing equality, education, and justice for all humankind, King leaves an admirable legacy that empowers all children to find and use their voices.

Each year, UNC's Office of Diversity and Inclusion sponsors a week-long, campus-wide initiative to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., his legacy, and his ideals. UNC is the only university to receive the "Making of the King Holiday Award" by the former MLK Federal Holiday Commission.
