Registration is now open for the UNC Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute's 23rd annual International Early Childhood Inclusion Institute.

For more than two decades, this well-attended event has captured the attention of people from across the nation and around the world. The event, which will once again be offered in a hybrid format welcoming participants virtually and in-person, is designed for individuals working toward inclusion at all levels and in a wide variety of roles.

Attendees include classroom teachers and assistants, government officials, family members, faculty, and researchersmany of whom return each year to:

  • learn about the latest research findings, models, and resources to guide inclusive policy, professional development and practice;
  • develop collaborative relationships and cross-agency systems to support early childhood inclusion; and
  • enjoy an opportunity to meet, learn from, and problem solve with their peers.

The theme of the institute this year is "committing to communities where everyone belongs" and the keynote speaker will be Sadia Batool, family lead for Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems for the PA Office of Child Development and Early Learning. She will present a talk titled "Under the Sun EVERYONE belongs - Reimagining INCLUSION across settings."
