Laura Louison is a public health social worker with over fifteen years of leadership in implementation of maternal and child health, early childhood and behavioral health programs in multi-sector systems.

Laura is an Associate Director and Senior Implementation Specialist with the National Implementation Research Network (NIRN) at Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute at UNC Chapel Hill. She specializes in technical assistance and facilitation for public agencies and philanthropic organizations to support the use of implementation science in their work.

Laura’s work focuses on current issues in the field: home visiting, maternal health care systems, kindergarten readiness, perinatal substance use, and rural implementation. She previously served as director of the North Carolina Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program at the North Carolina Division of Public Health, where she was responsible for the implementation of the federal MIECHV program and statewide implementation of Nurse Family Partnership in collaboration with public and private stakeholders.
