The UNC Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute (FPG) is pleased to announce our upcoming Distinguished Lecture on February 26 at 9:00 am.

Catherine Bradshaw, PhD, MEd, will present, "School-Based Prevention of Behavioral & Mental Health Problems: Integrating and Advancing the Evidence Base." During her talk, Bradshaw will review some of the current strategies for integrating evidence-based programming in schools to reduce behavioral and mental health problems in children and youth in K-12 settings. She will highlight models like multi-tiered systems of support and social emotional learning, along with approaches for optimizing implementation fidelity and scaling to reach rural communities. The talk will also give particular attention to teacher and contextual factors, and issues related to cost, burden, and equity.

Bradshaw, who is on FPG's External Advisory Board, is a university professor and the senior associate dean for research and faculty development at the School of Education and Human Development and is a faculty fellow with the vice president of research at the University of Virginia. She was previously an associate professor and the associate chair of the Department of Mental Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she maintains an adjunct faculty position.
