Creating Professional Development Resources for Child Care Providers Working With Dual Language Learners

The goal of this project was to create and evaluate professional development resources in the form of one online module designed to raise awareness of young dual language learners and improve instructional practices that promote the development and learning of young dual language learners. Project activities included creating the content for the module, launching and promoting the modules through the Better Kid Care On Demand system, and conducting a randomized control evaluation of the effectiveness of the module in improving providers’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices of working with young dual language learners. Results of the evaluation will be disseminated through a peer-reviewed journal article.
