Evaluation of the 2015 Rising Pre-Kindergarten Summer Transition Program

During the summer of 2015, Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) will provide a summer program to help prepare children from low-income homes where Spanish is the predominant language for pre-k. To evaluate this program, FPG will collect pre- and post-test assessments of children’s receptive vocabulary in English and Spanish, classroom observations, teacher questionnaires, and transition coordinator questionnaires. This study will provide DECAL with information that will allow them to make improvements to this program in future years.
