Division for Early Childhood of the Council for Exceptional Children’s (DEC) Position Statement on Child Maltreatment highlights individual and organizational responsibilities for supporting young children who are at risk for or have experienced child abuse, neglect, or trauma. As a companion to Taking a Stand! DEC’s Position Statement on Child Maltreatment, which appears in this issue of Young Exceptional Children, this article provides some additional options for acting on the recommendations of the DEC position.
