Building implementation capacity takes more than introducing new practices or frameworks; it requires investing in the people and systems that support change. In this webinar, the National Implementation Research Network (NIRN) and Pennsylvania’s IU13 will share Pennsylvania’s journey to strengthen implementation capacity to better support federally identified Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) schools.
The work has focused on building the implementation knowledge and skills of the consultants who work directly with CSI schools, helping them apply implementation science to the way they guide, support, and problem-solve alongside school teams. Presenters will share how Pennsylvania has approached developing this capacity, integrating implementation concepts and practices into existing school improvement supports, and creating greater consistency in how consultants support schools as they navigate complex implementation challenges.
Through practical examples, successes, and lessons learned, participants will explore what it takes to build implementation capacity within a system of support, not just within individual schools. The session will highlight how investing in the capacity of those who support schools can strengthen implementation, improve coherence, and ultimately help CSI schools move from planning for improvement to putting those plans into practice.
