This full-day conference welcomes educators, childcare providers, parents and caregivers from across the state for inspiring sessions in areas like literacy, STEM and social-emotional learning. Educators can earn professional credit hours for attending. Registration is open through May 10.

The Impact Summit is designed to support and celebrate those who nurture learners in their pivotal early years (birth to grade three). Attendees will experience a robust agenda of presentations and networking opportunities. They can choose from dozens of breakout sessions on a range of topics, including PBS LearningMedia, literacy, nature play, mental health, arts integration, family engagement and more.

Teresa Taylor and Heather Aiken of the UNC Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute (FPG) will present ideas on how to integrate writing into play-based activities. “Through research, implementation and technical assistance, FPG aims to help each and every child reach their full potential,” says Heather Aiken, director for Targeted Reading Instruction at FPG. “My colleagues and I are thrilled to share our resources and knowledge with a wide range of participants at the Impact Summit and are looking forward to learning from others working to improve children’s early educational experiences.”
