Bringing Equity to Implementation: Incorporating Community Experience to Improve Outcomes

Implementation science—the study of the uptake, scale, and sustainability of social programs—has failed to advance strategies to address equity. This collection of articles reviews case studies and articulates lessons for incorporating the knowledge and leadership of marginalized communities into the policies and practices intended to serve them. Towards Racial Equity in Publishing at Early Childhood Research Quarterly (ECRQ): ECRQ Ad Hoc Committee on Racial Equity in Publishing

The ECRQ Ad Hoc Committee on Racial Equity in Publishing aims to “create and implement a strategic plan to promote inclusive, equitable practices in publishing that will remove barriers faced by scholars who have been historically marginalized due to their race or ethnicity … Achieving racial equity will lead to more research published within this journal that is focused on the role of race and racism in early childhood, leading both to better science and improved understanding of early childhood education and development.” Read more about racial equity in publishing at ECRQ.

Unpacking Young Adults' Experiences of Race- and Gender-Based Microaggressions

This study's findings highlight the importance of unpacking social experiences of discrimination to better understand what types of experiences contribute to being critical of and reducing the commission of microaggressions.
