This project will provide technical assistance to the NC Preschool Exceptional Children Program in the Office of Early Learning (OEL). Project objectives include: (1) to facilitate a network of local Preschool Exceptional Children Program Coordinators with opportunities to learn about national trends, state initiatives, cross-sector issues, and networking with other professionals; (2) to provide targeted technical assistance on specific topics related to federal mandates, state policies and procedures, and reporting requirements; (3) to increase the number of classrooms across North Carolina that are performing high fidelity implementation of the CSEFEL Pyramid Model; (4) to facilitate cross-sector community planning to increase inclusive opportunities for preschoolers with IEPs; (5) to increase inclusive options for preschool children and improve the skills of classroom staff who are preparing to become inclusive teachers; and (6) to represent Preschool Exceptional Children Program on statewide planning and networking groups.
