FPG’s evaluation of Smart Start's Organizational Capacity Building Initiatives examined three initiatives -- Leaders' Collaborative and Leading for Equity, Organizational Consultation, and Interactive Website. The evaluation relied primarily on document reviews and interviews and/or focus groups with key stakeholders and with some observation of meeting activities (i.e., the Leading for Equity Retreats). We worked with the North Carolina Partnership for Children, Inc. and other key staff to access information, including meeting summaries and minutes from the Leaders' Collaborative Retreats, coaching meeting summaries, and local benchmarks and utilization plans. The evaluation provided information that NCPC can use to understand the effects of the initiatives on local communities and the broader Smart Start network and to make future decisions about activities.
