Train the Trainer Professional Development Sequence

This contract supports the implementation and evaluation of a professional development sequence for early childhood teacher trainers, child care or preschool directors, and learning support educators (LSEds) in Singapore. Based on principles and research on adult learning and evidence-based practices, this professional development (PD) sequence is designed to help early childhood trainers, child care or preschool directors, and LSEds support teachers in implementing evidence-based practices such as tiered instruction to meet the needs of all children, particularly those who might have additional developmental needs. Specifically, the PD sequence will provide participants with a chance to learn about and apply an innovative teaching approach and free, web-based resources to help teachers become capable decision-makers who combine evidence with clinical experience and adjust their instruction to meet the needs of ALL children.

The PD sequence includes a three-day face to face workshop coupled with pre- and post-workshop activities (that include implementation, regular support via email, and web-based technical assistance and coaching). An outcome for the participants is that they will learn to develop a personalized implementation plan to help support and meet the unique needs of the teachers and other early childhood professionals they work with in Singapore.
