This fact sheet is a summary of the policy brief of the same name. It presents highlights from a national survey of kindergarten teachers about transition practices as well as a study of transitions at UVA and provides recommendations regarding both policy and further research needed to help in facilitating children's transition from early childhood settings to the more formal life in school.
