Impact Center releases latest episode of Implementation Science at Work podcast
The Impact Center at UNC Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute (FPG) recently released episode eight of its podcast Implementation Science at Work. In this episode, titled "Looking into Implementation Support: Data, Quality Improvement and Program Success," they discuss an analysis of more than six years of qualitative survey data. The analysis helps answer two big questions about the Triple P program, which is a system of evidence-based positive parenting programs to meet parent needs and support families.
- How does implementation support contribute to Triple P program success?
- And how can data review contribute to quality improvement?
The podcast series began as a graduate internship project, so this episode comes full circle in that it features two former interns, Alden Parker who is currently a social work student with a dual concentration in child development at NYU, and Tori Wierzchowski, who finished her Master's in public health at UNC last May.
The Impact center pairs two specialists to work with the Triple P parenting program regions in North Carolina to offer implementation support. That support involves working with sites over a period of time to set goals, use implementation resources and tools, and get advice and feedback to support the local delivery of Triple P.
Data was collected from the Triple P partners via quarterly surveys, which are used to gauge their experiences with the support, how they view the relationship with their support providers, how they see themselves as self-regulating the work of implementation and supporting the use of this parenting program. The data collected is then used by the project team to inform and, potentially improve, support practices.
In this podcast episode, Parker, Wierzchowski, and FPG Senior Implementation Specialist Jessica Reed, MS, discuss the data analysis of more than six years of these surveys.
