Since the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) was reauthorized in 2004, states have been working to enhance their accountability systems in order to gather more meaningful data about the quality of their early intervention and early childhood special education programs, as well as the results/outcomes these programs are achieving for young children with disabilities and their families.
