Area(s) of Work: Early Care and Education & Pre-K Education
This consultation project assisted Wake County Smart Start (WCSS) and Wake County Human Services (WCHS) in gathering and analyzing information to determine the strengths and needs of the current child care subsidy system and to facilitate the development of strategic recommendations. To gather this information, the consultants conducted interviews and focus groups with parents and child care providers about their experiences participating in the child care subsidy program. Subsidy program administrators across Wake County also were interviewed about the operation of the program, particularly as it related to the EBT system. A final report and presentation were developed.
