School readiness is a popular topic nationally and within North Carolina. Legislators, policymakers, and educators who face increasing pressures for accountability have called for the assessment of children as they enter school. They want to know, "Are we getting children ready for school?" This report provides information addressing this and the other important piece of the puzzle, "How well are schools prepared to meet the needs of children as they enter school?"
