Early Childhood Teacher Preparation Programs in the United States: State Report for Tennessee

In 2004, the National Prekindergarten Center (NPC) conducted a national survey of early childhood teacher preparation programs at 2- and 4-year colleges and universities. The overall goal of the study was to update and extend the 1999 NCEDL study. The purpose of this report is to provide basic descriptive information about early childhood teacher preparation programs that prepare individuals to work with children younger than age 5. This report focuses primarily on programs offering the CDA or other certification, Associate's degrees, Bachelor's degrees, and Master's degrees.
