Kylie Garber, a research scientist at the UNC Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute has conducted a landscape analysis of current North Carolina programs that support child care providers, specifically with social-emotional development. Jean Jarrett, a graduate student in the department of health sciences speech and hearing sciences at the UNC School of Medicine, was recently named the winner of the 2025 James J. Gallagher Dissertation Award from the UNC Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute. The award honors the legacy of the late Jim Gallagher, FPG director from 1970 to 1987 and provides a $4,500 stipend.
