Biographical Statement
Yolanda Perkins, EdS, is an implementation specialist at the UNC Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute (FPG). With more than 20 years of experience in K-12 and post-secondary education, her work focuses on expanding the use of evidence-based practices to reduce disparities in education, learning, and social outcomes. As part of the National Implementation Research Network (NIRN), she is the co-principal investigator of the NY Math Network project, supporting New York state school districts in overcoming math program implementation barriers. Perkins also collaborates with the UNC TEACCH Work Together NC team on a state initiative to improve employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her past work includes leading the Effective Implementation Cohort (EIC) technical assistance team and the Michigan Implementation Specialist Micro-credentialing program. She has also worked on several autism research projects at FPG and the UNC School of Education promoting the utilization of the National Professional Development Center on Autism (NPDC) evidence-based practices in K-12 schools.
