The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act: State Achievements, Challenges, and Implications
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires states to submit State Performance Plans and Annual Performance Reports to document progress on performance and compliance indicators, improvement activities, and monitoring strategies. The National Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center and the Early Childhood Outcomes Center, both FPG projects funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs, provide a review of indicators pertaining to early intervention and early childhood special education.
