The Impact Center at FPG’s Rural Church Summer Literacy Initiative Support Team

The Impact Center at FPG’s Rural Church Summer Literacy Initiative Support Team supports the ongoing development and implementation of The Duke Endowment’s Rural Church – Summer Literacy Program in North Carolina.  The support team provides both programmatic and implementation support to over twenty rural community sites anchored in United Methodist churches.  Site-based supports include workforce development for program staff; development of implementation structures, resources and abilities; and monitoring and evaluation of implementation progress and outcomes. Additionally, design and consultation support is provided to broader initiative leadership and partners.  This includes ongoing refinement and packaging of the program model, considerations for initiative expansion and onboarding new sites, and consultation for external evaluation activities. This support is dynamic, collaborative, and responsive, contributing to the impact and sustainability of a promising summer literacy program for first through third graders in rural communities throughout the state of North Carolina.
