From the abstract: "Research Findings: The Teacher Impression Scale (TIS) is an observer rating scale originally developed in the 1990s for use in research. Following the instrument development model proposed by Boateng et al. (2018), the purpose of this study was to examine the reliability and validity of a version of the TIS that had been revised for teacher use in classroom. When employed by teachers in 37 preschool classrooms with 131 preschool children, the TIS had high levels of inter-rater reliability and internal consistency. Researchers used this information to reduce the number of items on the scale from 17 to 14 and an exploratory factor analysis indicated a strong fit for a three-factor solution that reflected social skills, affective expression, and social reciprocity. Practice or Policy: These preliminary research findings set the stage of a subsequent conclusive study with a larger number of teachers and children."
