This project's purpose is to expand the knowledge on the practices and supports necessary to improve access and participation within STEM learning opportunities for young children with disabilities and intersecting identities (CWDII). The Center's expected outcomes include:
- Expanded body of knowledge on implementing EBPs for early STEM learning to
- support all CWDII and their families.
- Increased capacity of faculty and PD providers to prepare an early childhood
- workforce (ECEs) to support STEM learning for CWDII.
- Increased capacity of ECEs to support STEM learning for CWDII.
- Increased capacity of families to integrate developmentally appropriate STEM
- learning opportunities into everyday routines.
The Center will conduct activities to increase access and participation of young children with disabilities and intersecting identities in STEM learning. The Center will expand the current knowledge base around early STEM learning for young children with disabilities and will provide high-quality TA to support implementation of STEM practices. The Center includes staff and consultants with unmatched early STEM experience and expertise leading national technical assistance (TA) centers utilizing innovative technology. The evaluation plan is aligned with the logic model and includes both formative and summative components. Rapid improvement cycles will be utilized and impacts of the Center’s TA will be identified.
