Sonya has over 16 years of experience as a librarian and bibliographer, and over 7 years of experience working with children in a variety of settings. She has been an intern at the Boston Children's Hospital's Developmental Evaluation Center, a toddler teacher, an after-school program coordinator, and a guidance counselor (K-8). Prior to FPG, she also worked at EBSCO as an international bibliographer, and later interned at the UNC Rex Healthcare Library performing complex literature reviews, cataloging, and reference for the medical community.

As an information specialist for the Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center at Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute and member of its Web team, she curates and synthesizes news and data reports for the ECTA eNotes weekly newsletter, manages the listservs, and provides reference and research assistance to staff and listserv subscribers. She also manages the ECTA Center Library, assists with website maintenance, manages product database files, and edits and submits new products for the website and ERIC.
